Surviving Quarantine: Tips from A+ Moms

Surviving Quarantine:
Tips from A+ Moms

Depending on your situation, it’s been about six weeks since the start of quarantine. That’s six weeks of no in-person school, playdates, game nights, dates nights, birthday parties, weddings, and sporting events. For most moms, this has been a major lifestyle change.

So how are we surviving quarantine? Here are some tips from real moms on how they keep sane.

  1. Think positively. Count your blessings because there really are so many! Focus on the present; the future is uncertain and there’s little value in thinking through worst-case scenarios. Let go of what you can’t control.
  2. Outdoor time. Sit on the porch and enjoy the sun. Ride your bike with your kids. Walk the dog–this time is tough on our fur babies too!
  3. Games. Lots of games. Throw, Throw, Burrito, and That Awkward Moment are highly recommended for all ages. Also, try hosting a virtual couples trivia night.
  4. TV shows and movies. Lego Masters, Ozark, Blacklist, and Little Fires Everywhere are some favorites.
  5. Puzzles. Small ones for the littles, and complex ones for the grownups. Keep a dedicated puzzle space in your house so you can always have one out.
  6. Bob Ross painting. Get some art supplies and paint along with this classic afro-haired hero on Netflix. Use whatever colors you have available.
  7. Treasure this time with your family. Enjoy that life has slowed down and there aren’t as many demands on our time. Take time to eat together, play together, and get to know each other better. Think of this as a unique opportunity to strengthen our family relationships.
