History may seem less important than math or reading, but being aware in a global culture is extremely valuable. Not to mention, life lessons learned through the foibles of humans before us.
But where to start? This website is extremely user-friendly, and, although geared toward elementary school children, has plenty of fun facts for older students as well. Your older children may also be interested in random historical facts, such as the 50 listed on this site.
If you’re interested in dates, you can also sign up for daily “This Day in History” facts to learn all kinds of facts.
